Dispelling some myths
Let's start off by dispelling some common myths:

Reading in dim light is not harmful to your eyes. Although reading in dim light can make
your eyes feel tired and cause some headaches as a result.
Using a computer does not damage the eyes. Although using a VDU is associated with eyestrain or
fatigue, it is not harmful to the eyes. Solutions can be provided to alleviate these problems.
Contact lenses do not cause cancer!
Wearing glasses will not make your vision poorer. There is however a psychological effect; the
more you wear your glasses, the more you realise how much blurrier it actually is without them.
And to top the list, my favourite - eye transplantation. The eye cannot be transplanted.
It is connected to the brain by the optic nerve, which cannot be reconnected once it has been
severed.
